Platteville’s public and post-secondary schools’ reputations of excellence stand out in Wisconsin! The Platteville Public Schools enroll approximately 1,500 students in grades 4K-12 spread out over four campuses in Platteville: Neal Wilkins Elementary School, Westview Elementary School, Platteville Middle School, and Platteville High School. Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore offers a variety of post-secondary education options in a two-year trade school setting, serving approximately 2,600 students. The University of Wisconsin – Platteville has approximately 6,400 students in a four-year degree program, both on the Platteville campus and online.

A cooperative education program provides specialized instruction, apprenticeships and other work experience opportunities for those who plan to enter the workforce directly after high school. Platteville High School is considered an innovator in the use of digital technology and graduates are well prepared to succeed in a technological society. A wealth of extracurricular activities provides students with many opportunities to explore artistic, athletic, academic and vocational leadership pursuits. The district’s excellent performing music program is launched at the middle school. And an innovative, hands on pre-engineering curriculum called Project Lead The Way is introduced to all students in grades 7 and 8 in preparation for a sequence of higher level science, technology, engineering, and math courses that become available at the high school. Students at the college today can earn an Associate’s degree or technical diploma in more than 40 popular programs.
